On the way to North, went through Taman National Forest which is a national heritage in Indonesia. so thick jungle, many monkeys are there. After passing jungle, am cycling along the beach west coast. Very few traffic and nice people.

北に向かっております。途中でタマンナショナルパークを通りました。うっそうとしたジャングル、猿が沢山。ジャングルを通過してからは順調に西海岸線を進んでます。交通量は極端に少なく、平和な空気が流れてます。

It's been 3days since started cycling in Sumatra. More jungle and blue Skye are here compared with Jawa..

スマトラ島で走り始めて3日経ちました。ジャワ島と比べてジャングルで空が青いです。






I met the Indonesian guy, Filips, in the ferry who works in the U.S and is visiting his family here. He invited me to stay with so I stopped by his town and had a day off. He took me a school where his parent work and I visited a school class and explained where Japan is to kids. Their eyes brite opened and listened my explanations. They've probably never seen Japanese in real. They are so cute.

フェリーで帰省途中のインドネシア人でアメリカに住んでいるフィリップと会った。彼の家に招いてもらい、一日休憩をとった。
フィリップの両親が働いている小学校に行って、授業の時間を借り、日本が何処にあるかなんかを説明したりした。多分、本物の日本人を見るのは始めての子達がほとんど。みんな目をキラキラさせて話を聞いてた。みんな可愛いかったな～

Staying in Chilbon, a big industrial town in west end of Jawa. Tomorrow, i will be in the new island Sumatra!!

チルボンっていうジャワ島の西端の街に滞在してます。明日からは新たな島、スマトラ島!!





Seems starting rain season. どうやら雨季に追い付かれたようです

Finally got my visa extended. The ticket for going out of this county was eventually checked, so I was very pleased that I had one as preparation for this. Now, I am heading to Sumatra. Will be taking a ferry to there in few days. Indonesia is way bigger than I thought; I already pedaled 1500km... It will be over 3000km by the time to be out of this country.

やっとこさVISA延長完了。最終的に出国用エアチケット確認された。こんな事もあるかと準備しといて良かった。

これから向かうはスマトラ島。スマトラ島行のフェリーが出てる街まで2・3日ってところ。
インドネシアは思っていた以上にデカイ(^_^;) 既に1500kmこいでる。。この国を出るまでには3000km超えてるはず。

It was very easy...
I should have known that I could apply visa Extension here.
They don't even check any ticket for flying back to out of this country.
Took me only 30 min to get it done, but I still need to wait until next Monday to get my passport back. What I should do.. probably just relaxing.

手続きは本当簡単。母国もしくは第三国行のチケットすら確認されなかった。所要時間30分(^_^;)
でも来週の月曜日まで、待たないといけない。

本当、ジャカルタまで行った苦労は何だんだか。。
昨日バンドゥンで申請してればきっと金曜日までには延長完了できてたはず。

さあ、何しよう。ひたすらグダグダかな(´Д` )

Started screwing up.
To find the immigration office was difficult first of all.
こっからが、悲劇の始まり。
イミグレオフィスが見つからない(T_T)


I had a map in my travelers guide from Japan, but there was a restaurant where map shows immigration office. Then I showed address on the book to people, and found that the place was totally opposite side of town. Okay, I have enough time. Japanese don't get angrily easily.

地球の歩き方にあるの地図にイミグレオフィスと書いてある場所に行ったが、レストランに変わっていた。
近くにいた人に、本に書いてあったアドレスを見せると、全然違う場所。本が間違ってるんじゃん！！(￣ー￣) まあまあ、時間はたっぷりあるからね。日本人は簡単に怒りません。


I took a taxi to this place which took me 1hour due to heavy jakarta traffic jam.
タクシーを捕まえて、アドレスの場所へ。ジャカルタの大渋滞で1時間。

Went to a counter and asked a women about my visa extension.
カウンターへようやくたどり着き、VISAの延長について話す。

Again....
She said "you need to go to another office because this office is only for new visa appliance". My Japanese guide book was totally useless.Okay, I have more time after noon...Japanese don't get angrily easily.

ここは新規のVISAを申請するオフィスだから、違うオフィスに行って下さい、だって。なにーー(￣ー￣) 地球の歩き方には何度も助けられが、ここで裏切られるとは。。。まあまあ、ごごもあるし。日本人は簡単に怒りません。

I asked this woman the address of another office and took a taxi again which took me another 1 hour to get.

新たなオフィスの場所を聞いて、そこに向かう。これまた1時間。

Found the place at noon. It was lunch brake so I needed to wait 40 min for a counter to be re-opened.

昼に着いたもんで、昼休み中。40分待たされる(￣ー￣)

Finally, I could stat process of visa extension but another failure was here.

ようやく、この時がやってきた。。。でも、またもや・・・

A woman asked me where I am staying right now, so I answer "I stay in Bandung"
this was my mistake. I should have prepared the address in Jakarta. Because of that the people who apply visa extension in Jakarta need to stay in Jakarta.

管理官 > どこに滞在してるの？
俺 > バンドゥンです。

これが、大きな間違いだった。嘘でも良いからジャカルタの滞在先を準備しておくべきだった。ジャカルタ滞在者はジャカルタでVISAの延長申請。バンドゥン滞在者はバンドゥンで延長申請というルールらしい。

The woman said to me "you need to extend visa in Bandung, you cannot do it here".
バンドゥンで延長申請して下さい。

What what what????? I cannot??? I can apply my visa extension in Bandung??? I am so stupid and should have looked at more information. All frustration I had so far were exploded.
I don't get angry easily but was so mad due to all failure so far.

Did nothing in Jakarta, but in this side trip, I am bit educated about visa issue.

Now, I am cooled down so looked back what happened at the office. Very angry in front of officer. Many people looked at me. It wad embarrassing....

落ち着いた今考えると、本当恥ずかしい。沢山の人の中で怒る俺。

I really hope it goes okay in Bandung. Will try again in Bandung tomorrow.

@ Bandung. Took a train to Jakarta. The reason of that is to go to immigration office to extend my visa. It took me about 3 hours one way and cost 60000RP. I wanted to relax so booked executive class; wider space, air-conditioning, and not crowded.

今バンドゥンです。電車でジャカルタに行って参ります。今回の理由は、ジャカルタの入国管理局でVISAの延長申請をする為。片道3時間、ふんぱつして60000RP。エグゼクティブクラスです。混んでないし、広くてエアコンきいてます。

I am on the way to Bandung, a city 200 km south east of Jakarta. I thought it's easy to find a hotel on the way because of so far it was easy but not. Yesterday, couldn't, today couldn't. Found the way to stay safe; to go to Polis Office. They provided me good accommodation for me both yesterday and today; nice tea and food. They are very nice to tourists. I probably go again to Polis Office if I cannot find any place to stay.

今、ジャカルタから200キロ南東のバンドゥンという街に向かってます。ホテルなんて簡単に見付かるもんだと思ってたけど、いがいとそうでもなかった。そこで思い付いたのが、警察署に泊まるってアイデア。これが問題なくオッケー。昨日、今日と警察署にお邪魔させてもらいました。しかも、お茶や食事も出してくれて、インドネシア警察は観光客に寛大です。これからも困った時の警察署で行こうと思います。

Since I don't see any store selling Sugar weed juice somehow, I found a next addiction. It's called Galut. A lot of black pudding in coconut milk. This is very good(2000RP)

ここ最近全然さとうきびジュースを見ない。今はまってるもの。現地でガルッ って呼ばれてるデザート。黒い色のプリンが沢山ココナッツミルクに入ってる。うます。2000RP, 18円

I finally met cyclists from UK, Tom and Germany, Ania. They've been on the bike 1.5 years, from Europe to here.I've been alone for 2weeks so am very happy meeting with them. Nice information exchanged and conversation. It makes tiredness away.

とうとうサイクリストに会う事が出来た。イギリス人のトムと、ドイツ人のアニア。1年半かけてヨーロッパからここまで来たそうだ。2週間以上一人だったから、本当嬉しい。情報交換や会話も弾み、疲れも吹き飛びました。



Today was the day off. We went to Borobudur Temple and looked around.

今日は一日休息で、ボロブドゥール遺跡を見に行った。

I cannot believe that world biggest Budist temple had been belied until recently. People still don't know the reason why this is created.

こんなにでかい構造物が近年まで土に埋れていたなんて信じかたい。未だに、何で造られたのかもわかってないそうだ。







For my opinion from little knowledge, this was buerly by people. Because of that the mud on the bottom of this temple, that people who build this at the beginning used is same as the mud covered this temple. That means somebody took those mud same place. The country created this got week by the time the constriction done, and the Buddhists got minority in this country. Might people belongs to other religion have done. A lot of masterly remained.

少ない知識から思うに、人によって埋められたんではないかと。。。
どうやら、遺跡の下の土と、埋める時に使った土が同じらしい。この寺院が出来上がる頃には、造った仏教国も衰退していたらしく、仏教もこの国では少数派になっていったみたい。だから、違う宗教派の人間が埋めたんじゃないかな？ 謎多き場所です。

Stopped at Prambanan, a world heritage site, and looked around here.
Long time ago, The emperor of Hindu country got merry with princess of Buddhist country, and they created these temples. In this small town, see many temple mixed with Buddhism and Hindu. Also here are many Moscow around. I don't know if there are any country historically got along different religion.

今、プラバナンカン寺院群に来てます。昔々、ヒンドゥー教の国を持つ王様が、仏教の国を持つお姫様をもらって、この寺院群を造ったらしいです。だから、街の中にヒンドゥー教と仏教が入り混じった寺院が点在してて、歴史的に見てとても興味深い場所です。それでいてイスラム教のモスクが周りに点在してて、世界中でも歴史的に宗教が有効的に鎮座してるのは、そんなにないんじゃないかな。







Will visit Borobudur

Keep pedaling since I left Mt.Bromo. Only I can see is rice feeld. Seems it's about the time for them to crop those. Many people work together like people in country side of Japan used to do.

ブロも火山を出てからもくもくと走ってます。見えるのは田園風景。刈り入れ時なのか、沢山の人達が一緒に稲刈りをしてるのが見えます。昔の日本もこんなんだったんだろうな～






Stop and find a hotel. Take a shower and relax until sun set. About 5:30pm, Azarn started around. People start doing back home. I don't know why it's letting me relax. Do Japanese society need this time? People work work without checking time. When they realized it, it's already passed couple years. Then thought "what i got done last few years?". ....I just thought.

走るのをやめて、宿を探し、シャワーを浴びて日の入りまでリラックス。5時30分くらいになるとアザーンがそこらじゅうから聞こえ始め、夜が近い事を知らせてくれる。わからないけど、心地いい。

日本社会にもこんな時間がもっとあって良いんじゃないかな～ 時計を見るのも忘れて働いて働いて、気付いたら数年経ってたりなんかして。そんで「ここ数年何したっけ?」なんて。

I found the best juice ever. There are many trailer food store along the way, a store for vegetable, fruits, and etc. I've been trying many of them. Now, I found the best. This is very sweet, healthy and cheep, 1000RP(about $0.1). Very nice to have it when it's hot and thirsty.

最高のジュースを発見した。さとうきびジュース。道沿いに沢山の屋台があって、いろいろ試してるけど、これ最高。健康的で絶妙な甘さ、そして安い！(一杯1000RP, 8円くらい)。暑くて喉が乾いてる時に最高です。

100km west of Bondowiso, taking a brake. This is the town of that people get access to Bromo Volucano, a most popular place for people in Jawa to visit.

ボンドウォッソから100km 西の、プロボロンゴにいます。今日は一日休息。ここはジャワ島で一番有名な観光地のブロも火山に行く玄関口。

I booked a mortar cycle taxi and visited there in this morning to see sun rise.
Many local visiter like Nikko in Japan but the view was incredible. Sun started rising and rights on the fog stuck in crater and volcano steaming. It's was like a post card.

バイクタクシーを捕まえて、ブロも火山に御来光を見に行ってみた。ローカル観光客が沢山。日本の日光みたい。人はすごかったけど、景色は綺麗だった。太陽が登り始めると、クレーターに溜まったキリとブロも火山が照らされて、まるでポストカードの一枚みたいだった。









Now, back to the hotel.
Stay at here and do nothing. Will just relax all day.
今はホテルに戻ってリラックス。今日は何もしないで休息します。
