Now in Cappadocia, 2 days cycling from Sivas. Anatolia region is very cold already. My winter gears are still okay, but i think the point of that those don't work come soon.
カッパドキアにはSivasから2日で着いた。やっぱアナトリア高原 寒いですな～ 装備の限界が来てる感じがすごくする今日この頃でございます。

You might've seen a photo of Cappadocia before. There were many strange shaped rocks in huge area. Scenery of that those rocks under blue sky is incredible. However, those are not just strange rocks; I think scenery of rocks itself is not very special. What makes very special is that people had been living in caves in those rocks since before century; I saw many caves on my way here.
写真で見た事がある人も少なくはないと思うが、カッパドキアは奇岩が至る所にそびえていて、青い空に突き出た奇岩群は感動もの。ただ、これだけならアメリカのブライスキャニオンやアーチーズの方がよっぽど壮大。ここが何でスゴイかと言うと、奇岩をくり抜いた家等に紀元前から人が住んでいた事。自転車で来る途中もたちどころに穴が空いてて、人が住んでいた痕跡が伺える。

Only this village is just a super touristic village, but it still very beautiful around.
ギョレメ村だけ見ると、かなり観光地でドン引きだけど、やっぱり世界のギョレメだけあって景色は素晴らしい。



The under ground city. It has 8 stories under ground, and there were used to be 10,000 people living here. I was impressed how people created this.
地下都市。地下8階まであって、かつては1万人も人が住んでたらしい。良くこんな壮大な穴を掘りましたな～

I think Cappadocia is good place to take times, so I stay here for awhile.
なかなかカッパドキアは見所沢山あって面白いんで、しばらくチャリは置いて、散策する事にします。

I heard that Turkish were very friendly and welcoming. However, I had a bad experience yesterday.
人が良いと聞いているトルコ。昨日嫌な事があった。


It was 1 hour before sunset and starts raining hard. I wanted to reach a big town, Sivas but stopped a GS at a small town 40km from there. It was too late and rainy to make 40km, so I asked the owner of GS to let me sleep tonight. He said okay "No problem"
日の入まで1時間残し、雨が強く降って来たんで目的地のSivasまで40km残して小さな町のGSに逃げ込んだ。どうにも止みそうもないし、時間を考えても走り続けるのは無理。この街には宿はないし、雨だから野宿もしたくない。考えて、このGSのおっちゃんに宿泊交渉してみるとあっさりオッケー。


After awhile, he left to his home and I was with a worker who doesn't speak much. Suddenly, this guy said to me "Don't stay here, go"....I explained it's already too dark to cycle, but he never changed his words... I packed up everything that already dry and left there. Then I found another GS and stopped there. There were couple of friendly men, and they were pretty welcoming. I explained what happened and asked me to stay. They said "No problem". However, there were a problem. An hour later, their boss came and said NO... I was having a bread that I saved for tomorrow morning because they told me not to use fire....I was a bit angry and said "I DON'T LIKE TURKEY !!" . I left there and finally find a place to sleep. It was under a bridge....
しばらくしておっちゃんは家に帰り、無愛想な従業員と2人きりになった。すると、こやつ「泊まるのなんて無理だよ」っと言い始め。自分が もう外は真っ暗だし「雨も降ってるし今から泊まっちゃダメなんて言われても困る」と言っても無理。せっかく乾いたレインギアを着て走り始めざるおえなくなった。そして走り始めてすぐ見つけたGSに再び駆け込んだ。若い兄さん2人がいて、かなりフレンドリー。事情を説明すると休憩室で寝て良い事に一旦はなった。が、1時間後、ボスがいたらしく、ボスにNGを出されて、またもや外にほおり出された。火を使っちゃいけないって言われたから、明日に取っておいたパンも食べてしまったし、どうしてくれんだ。
疲れてて頭にきたから「I don't like Turkey」っと吐いて雨の中再び走り始めた。そしてやっと見つけたのは橋の下。雨はしのげたが、エアマットの空気がすぐ抜けるから、石で腰が痛くて何度も起こされた。

Now, I'm in Sivas. I think I should have not said that to them because they, young men, were nice. The only ass was the guy at the first GS.. I think I'm too tired so will have some rest here for couple of days..

こんな出来事があった後、今日Sivasに到着した。今から考えると「I don't like Turkey」は言い過ぎたな。お兄ちゃん達は良い奴等だったし。嫌な奴だったのは最初のGSの従業員だけ。疲れ過ぎは良くありませんね。ここで2日程静養します。

This is a lentil sup I've been eating for last 4, 5 month. Super tasty. I sometime eat this even when I am at town where I have a lot of choices. ここ4・5ヶ月毎日のように食べているエナジーレントスープ(自炊時)マジ美味いです。街にいる時でさえ食べたりします。

When I leave Travzon, I met couple of cyclists I met in Dushanbe, Tajikistan. They were also going same detraction, so we cycled together. They were both solo cyclist and met in Batumi.

トラブソン出発当日、偶然タジキスタンのドゥシャンべで会ったスイス人サイクリスト2人に再会した。こんな偶然の再会がここ最近良くある。彼等も同じ方向に向かうらしく、久々にペアラン。彼等はそれぞれ別々の道を進んで来て、パドゥミで落ち合ったらしい。



I don't stop for tea often when I cycle alone, but I like to have a tea if I go with someone. In Turkey, a Chi costs 0.5TL($0.2), and it comes with a small glass.
1人だとチャイブレイクなんてあまりしないが、パートナーがいると休憩も楽しいから、ついチャイブレイクが多くなる。トルコのチャイはおちょこくらいのグラスに入っていてグビグビいくとすぐなくなる。1杯0.5リラ(1リラ＝45円)


We cycled until Giresun and spread own way. For me, going towered inside of the land. I dont like to cycle in cold. I decided it because i want to cycle in Kappa Dokia.
彼等とはギレスンまで1泊2日一緒に走って別れた。自分はここから1人山越えサヨーナラ黒海。寒いの嫌いだけど、カッパドキアを自転車で走るが為に我慢します。

After we spread, suddenly, my front bag fell off. A wire connected a strap hold my bag has been torned. It was totally damaged so cannot be repared.
っと、登り始めてすぐ、バコッと言う音と共にフロントバック用のストラップを止めるワイヤーが再びブチ切れまして、再生不能になりました。

However, I had been thinking a way how I can fix without original wire. I used a breakable. It worked pretty good. It will be recommended for all long distance cyclists.
が、こんな事もあるかと思い、万が一の為に作戦を考えていたのだ。使ったのは自転車のワイヤーケーブル。これが予想道理に上手くフィットしてくれて、むしろ新品のように上手く取り付けられた。壊れたらすぐ捨てるの、日本人の悪いクセですからね。みなさん、長期でチャリ旅をする方には必見です。

Then going to inland. I expected a lot of hills, but it was even more and also colder...I hope I can get to Kappa Dokia.
そしてトルコ内陸へ・・・今更だけど、トルコ内陸って凄まじく山っすね。正しく平地がナイ。まだかろうじて雪は積もってなかったけど、1500m以上行くとかなり寒い。カッパドキア平気か？？

People I met at a restaurant I camped. They treated me a dinner. レストランで野宿した時に会った人達。おごってもらってしまいました。


After passing a second big pass, scenery was changed to like more step and flat. This is the Anatolia high land. 2つ目の峠を越えるともうアナトリア高原です

I heard that coast of black sea was more raining, but it's been sunny. It was lucky to me because I got a serious problem on my tent. A window on my fly sheet was come off...

黒海沿岸は雨が多いと聞いてたけど、ここのところずっと快晴続きでラッキー。なんせテントのフライシートの天窓が剥がれて大穴が空いてしまったのだ。



If it is raining, water might be leaked. As emergency treatment, I cut my stuff bag made from same material and brought it to a sawing shop. A guy saw it on my tent, but his job was rough. I don't think the hole was completely sealed.
だから雨が降ると大変。一応、テントと同じ素材でできたスタッフサックを持ってたからそれを切って、ミシン屋に持って行って縫ってもらった。けど縫い方がかなり雑だったから、雨が降ったら多分雨漏りするはず。


I have more things that have been worn out. A steal wire for my front bag has been torn off. The gear shifter for the front has been broken. My sleeping mat has a lot of small hales, so it gets flat in a few hours.
これ以外にも沢山ガタがきてるものがあるんでグチらせて下さい。自転車のフロントバック用(オートリブ)ストラップのワイヤーも1月前？くらいにちぎれて瀕死の状況。リアシフターもぶち壊れて、何とか工夫して使ってる。スリーピングマットは小さい穴が沢山あって、3時間もしたらペチャンコ。


I need to overhaul in Istanbul for sure.
やっぱり長く走るといろんな問題が出て来ますね。イスタンブールに着いたらオーバーホールしないと。



Anyways, even though I had a lot of problems, I crossed a border of Turkey where the last country of Asia.
というわけで致命的な問題はないものの、多々問題を抱えながらアジア横断最終トルコに入国しました。

Cycling along the black sea. I was surprised that the water was pretty clean. 黒海沿岸をひた走る。水がキレイでビックリ。





From Batumi, it was easy 220km to Trabzon because the road was super nice like Chinese highway. In here, I felt I was already in Europe because people were European looking enough for me. Also, price of things became high. The gasoline was $2/litter!!
中国の1級高速並に道が綺麗で2日で余裕の220kmを走り、トラブソンに到着。ここまで来るともう雰囲気はヨーロッパ。人の見た目もすっかり欧米的だし、物価も大分高い気が。。。だってガソリンがリッター約$2って。。



Turkey was used to be one of the place that we could travel cheaply but not anymore...However, it doesn't matter to me because I do camp and cook by myself. Now, here, Trabzon, I am staying at a hotel, Benri Hotel because the price was decent; $8 single room and wifi access in the room.
ひと昔は安く旅ができる国だったのに、今やヨーロッパと変わらないんじゃないかな。なんてチャリだーには関係ありません。自炊にテントですから。それでも今は安宿Benri Hotelに宿泊。シングルで15リラ(約700円)WiFi部屋でできるなんてかなりステキなんで滞在してます。

For my next plan, I decided to go to Kappa Dokia. It will be very cold on the way... Hope not raining..Also I need to pass some mountains again...
これからのルートはと言うと、かなり寒そうだけどカッパドキアに向かおうと思います。あぁ～ 雨降りませんように。グルジアで峠越え最後かと思ったけど、また増えました。

It had been cloudy or raining for long so nice to see a blue sky here. Along the black sea, the temperature is much warmer than inland. I was surprised that there were banana-trees in a yards.

久々に見る雲一つない青空。気持ちいぃ～ 黒海沿岸はすごく暖かくて、庭先にバナナの木なんかが植わっててビックリ。あぁ～暖かいって何て良いんだろ。


From here, ferris go to Ukraine, Russia and Turkey.
ここからウクライナやロシア、トルコへ船が出てる。

バイク用の道が整備されてて、黒海沿岸を走れる。かなり気持ちいい


I found that the mountains I passed through got snow. I was lucky that I could go though that area just right before snow dumped.
通って来た山々が昨日までの雨で見事に雪化粧。あと2日くらい峠越えが遅れてたら、雪の中を自転車押すか、クタイシ方向に遠回りしなければならなかったかもしれない。今考えたら、ギリギリで峠越えできたっぽい


From tomorrow, I will be in Turkey!!

Southern Georgia was unexpectedly very nice place to cycle. Mountains were not high but the contrast of mountains, old temples and villages were very nice.

グルジアの南部って思ってた以上に楽しいですね。山はそんなに高くないけど、遺跡と山と集落のコントラストがなかなか良い雰囲気ですね。








The best thing was that people were very nice and welcoming. I had been invited for 2 nights in 4 nights.
それ以上に人が良かったな。たった4日のうちに2日間もホームステイさせて頂きました。



I couldn't find a spot to camp until just right before sun-set. Then this family rescued me. Their village, Bodzauri was pretty relaxing.
野宿スポットが見付からず、真っ暗になる寸前に招いて頂いた家族。このBodzauri っていう山の中にある集落、すごくのどかで癒されます。



A boy of this house, Nicor, he suddenly asked me "do you have anybody you like". Then we talked about why he asked me about it. He said he had a girl he really like in his class with 6 people. I hope he told her what he think.
家の子、ニコール。寝る前「好きな人はいるか？」と唐突に言われびっくりして、話を聞いてみると、何々クラスメイトが6人で、その中に大好きな女の子がいるんだと。何か話を聞いていて、すごく癒されました。頑張って告白してほしいな。頑張れーー


At a temple, Zarzma, monks invited me to have a lunch. I could have a lot of meal even wine. What a nice temple!!
Zarzmaという寺院にて。見学中に僧侶に飯を食ってけと誘われ、たらふく飲み食いさせて頂きました。しかもワインまで。最高っす。

Vardzia, this has been built during 12th century. There were 5 million people living here before, but I doubted.
Vardzia 遺跡。12世紀の修道院跡。かつては5万人も人が住んでいたらしいが、そんなでかいか？

In Batumi, I stayed at a family I met the passed for a night. In some reason, I moved to a guest house now. Turkey is coming soon, only 14km from here.
バトゥミでは峠越えした時に会ったグルジア人の家に1日だけ世話になって、訳あって2日目からゲストハウスに移動。ここ出たら14kmでアジア最後のトルコです。

It was my 31st birthday. I was expecting something fun, but nothing happened. However, I crossed a border of Georgia.

31回目の誕生日。今年はどんな事が起こるかと思ってたけど、特に何もなく、あえて言うならグルジアに入国致しました。


Last year, I stayed at a police office in Sumatra, and next day, 30th birthday, I got invited to stay at a local family. It was pretty nice experience.
去年はスマトラの警察署で夜を明かして、翌日は親切な人の家でホームステイしたっけ～ あぁ懐かしい。スマトラ暑かったなぁ～


Since I left Yerevan, it's been raining and cold. Seems here already winter.. I hate to get my tent wet and bike muddy...
一転、グルジアはもう冬ですね。イェレバンを出発した3日前から雨ですね。寒い～ テント濡れるの嫌だ～ 自転車ドロドロ～

Picking up quite frustration, so I decided to stay at a hotel in Akhalkalaki. I asked couple of people and found a cheapest economy hotel which cost me $10. However, a woman working here was not nice, and she asked me $3 for cold shower. There was no inside toilet only outhouse... This was unforgettable shitty birthday...
何か最低(ｰｰ;) ふてくされて見付けたAkhalkalakiにある安宿は $10も払ったのに、従業員のオバさんは親切じゃないし、シャワー$3 とかふざけた事言われるし、トイレ外のボットンだし。。。なんか散々。ある意味記憶に残る誕生日になったかな(ｰｰ;)


The border I crossed. This border was really small, but processing was quite smooth so took only 20min to get all done.
グルジア国境。かなりこじんまりしてる国境でした。出入国もかなりスムーズで20分くらいで一連の作業終了。




To be honest, I wanted to go up north west of Georgia, a mountains area. However, it's too late to go because it would be very very cold there. This time, I need to give up. Instead , I am going to by the black sea as soon as possible...
本当なら北部の大カフカス方面を楽しみに行きたいのだけど、もう寒くて北西部は無理だと判断し、さっさと黒海に抜ける事にしました。

Stayed in Yerevan for 7 days.
Mrs Lita, the owner of guesthouse was very nice person as I heard from other Japanese before. I spend long time at open space of the guesthouse everyday.

イェレバンにてつかの間の休息。それでもダラダラ7日間。リタさんは噂通り柔らかい人の良いお祖母さん。居心地が良い。中庭で日本人旅人とだべっているとあっという間に時間が経過してゆく。

I didn't know much about how Turkey did to Armenian before. This circumstance has been deny by Turkey' government, so it seems to take a long time to get solved.
この次行くトルコもつい最近までかなりエグい事してたんですね。この問題、トルコ側は否定してるようで、解決にはかなり時間が掛かるようだ。

However, autumn mountains were very beautiful!
