After crossing a mountain in west side of Barcelona. I could see the Sagrada Familia in the center.
山を越えて目の前に現れたバルセロナ市街地。中心部にはあのサグラダファミリアが見え～る。




In this city, I try to be a normal tourist and planed to see arts as much as I can.
ここでは思い切り観光客になって芸術に身を浸す。

This building was huge. It looked funny that all people had looked up at the top. I was like that as well.
近くに行くとそのデカさがわかる。来る人達それぞれポカーンと口を開けて頭上を見上げているので見ていて面白い。そんな事言って何度自分もポカーンと上を向いた事か。



Sagrada Familia was huge enough but growing bigger. I had learned before that it would take 300 years to complete this project. However, since the advanced construction engineering and more budgets from tourism, this project expects to be finished by 2026. This photo below is the completed Sagrada Familia.
これで十分デカイけれど完成後はさらにデカイ。確か昔テレビで完成には300年掛かると言っていた。だから生きてるうちは完成した姿は見れないなと思っていた。が、何と建築技術の進歩や豊富な観光収入によって2026年の完成に向けて工事を進めているらしい。それでこれが完成後の模型。

I hope I can come back after. I would be 45.
さぁ完成後に来る機会があるでしょうか。45才以降だね。

I visited art museum of Joan Milo and Picasso. As long as i remembered, It was my first visiting of art museum in this journey. It's good sometime to see the beauty of what human made.
ピカソとミロの美術館にも行った。この旅始めてかな？入った美術館。こういう人間の作り出した「美」もたまには良いもんです。

I was pleased that I had my bike to see around this big town. It would be very tiring without it. If I didn't have, I would use tourist buses that costs €24 for a day and 31 for two days.
この街はデカくて見所も散らばっているので自転車があって本当良かった。3日間でかなり効率良く周る事ができた。この街を歩いたら本当疲れただろうな。街には観光客用バスが循環していて大人は1日€24、2日€31。乗り降り自由だし、もし自転車が無かったらこのバスを使っただろうな。

I completed what I wanted to see in Barcelona. Now it's time to move on. I have only 17 days left...
これでバルセロナでの任務完了。タイムリミットまで17日。急げジブラルタル！

I headed to Barcelona, the second biggest city in Spain. I crossed the border of Andorra and Spain after few KM from La Vella.

アンドラから向かうのはスペイン第二の都市バルセロナ。出発してすぐにアンドラとスペイン国境を越える。

Andorra was really small country. If I wanted, I could have crossed this country in couple hours.
本当小さな国だった。走り抜けようと思えば、フランス側の峠頂上からスペイン国境まで2時間もあれば抜けられてしまう距離だったと思う。

It was pretty nice scenery on the way to Barcelona.

Before getting Barcelona, I visited my friend again.
バルセロナ手前ではまたも友人を訪問した。

Jordi is a Catalan. I met him when I worked at the winery in Australia. He is a professional win maker and has many experiences for vintages. He is going to Germany in this year. At first day, we cerebrated with Sake Kazu san gave me and Wine from Spain.
カタルーニャ人のジョルディ。彼はオーストラリアのワイナリーで働いた時の同僚。ワイン作りのプロでいろんな場所でワインを作って来た経歴を持つ。今年はこれからドイツにワインを作りに行くらしい。
初日は和さんから頂いた日本酒とスペインのワインで乾杯。

The village where he lives, ジョルディの住む村

The village is about 50km away from Barcelona. There were many beautiful red rock mountains around.
バルセロナから約50km手前。赤い岩山が綺麗な場所だった。

He took me a hike to the mountains around his village. It was not good weather but nice hike.
ジョルディに連れて行ってもらった山。あまり天気は良くなかったけれど良い景色だった。







He treated me with some wines he made. Those were very good. Thank you Jordi. It has been only 5 month since I left Australia. I already feel it was long time ago. I wonder how other mates do now.
ワイン職人だけあってワインをいろいろ出してくれたジョルディ。とても美味しゅうございました。本当ありがとう。まだオーストラリアを離れてから5ヶ月くらいしか経っていないのにもう懐かしく感じる。他のメイトは何をしているのだろうか。

From the top of the pass, it was all way down, so I got into the capital of Andorra, Andorra La Vella, very quirky.

峠からスペイン方向へは全行程下り。アンドラの首都、アンドラ•ラ•ベリャにはあっという間に到着した。


This country doesn't have much flat lands, so the narrow valley stretching towered Spain was full of buildings.
この国は平地がほぼ皆無で、スペイン国境まで続いている谷沿いにビッシリと街や道路が建築されている。

The view of towns surrounded by big mountains was very unique.
2800m前後の切り立った山々に囲まれた街並みは異様な感じ。


People are coming to this country for skiing during winter, hiking and mountain biking for summer. Also, of cause, many come here for shopping all year around.
この国の見所は、冬はスキー、夏は登山やスキー場のスロープを利用したマウンテンバイク。それに大半の観光客は買い物が目当てと見える。


There were many shops in towns. Actually, I came here for shopping as well. Now, I'm going to Africa very soon so need to prepare for that.
どの街も店が沢山あって買い物客が多いのがわかる。実は自分も今回買い物目当てで来た。これから数週間でアフリカ入りするのに、自転車の部品交換や予備パーツの購入を済ませておきたかったからだ。


There were some bike shops in Andorra. I visited Jormabike and Inter Sports.
自転車屋はアンドラ内に何件もあるようだったが、自分が行ったのは首都からスペイン方向に5km下った場所にあるJormabikeと、首都にあったヨーロッパチェーンのInterSports。





Both of them had good stocks, so I got all I needed; a sprocket, a chain, a corm wrench etc... In that day, I spent rest of the day for replacing parts. Im pretty much ready for Africa now. However, I still need to more research about it, but as I said i don't have much time so will do more once I get to Morocco.
双方共にシマノパーツ等一通り揃っていて、自分が欲しかったスプロケ、チェーン、コーンレンチ、予備部品他等、全部揃えられた。この日は買ったパーツを全て古いパーツと交換して一日の大半を過ごした。これでアフリカインに向けた大方の装備は完了。あと細かい情報収集もしたいが、今は何しろゆっくりできる時間が無いのでモロッコに入ってからやろうと思う。

Pyrenees, a highlight of tour de France, devises Iberia peninsula and main part of Europe. Some part of my route in this time goes same route of 8th stage of 2009 of tour de France. I could have pushed harder to move forward with imaging tour de France.

カルカソンヌから見えたピレネー山脈。この山脈がヨーロッパ大陸とイベリア半島を分断している。そして世界的に有名なツールドフランスのハイライトで、2009年の第8ステージには今回自分が通ったルートが使われたらしい。進むスピードは彼等の数倍遅いが、気持ちはツールドフランス意識で峠に挑む。

The pass was Pass De La Casa. It's in Andorra. This pass was very hard work. In the first day, I started from Carcassonne and cycled 90km for easy going up.
今回の峠はアンドラ内にあるPass De La Casa。これがしんどかった。まず1日目はカルカソンヌから90kmばかり緩い上りをやっつける。






Second day, after arriving Ax-les Thermes, the long way up hill has been started. The road went up till the pass, 40km no stop and it was pretty heavy traffic....
2日目、Ax-les Thermesという町から頂上まで40kmの登り。走れど走れど上が見えてこないし、交通量がやたら多い。








Got into Andorra.
頂上手前でアンドラ入国。

Andorra is a country. This country is located in the top of Pyrenees. I didn't know anything about Andorra till recentry.
そうアンドラはれっきとした国で、何とピレネー山脈の頂上にあるのです。こんな国が存在すること自体つい最近まで知らなかった。そして、入国してすぐここまで何故車が多かったのかがわかった。

This was the reason why it was a lots of traffic. There was a shopping center, it looked sky resort for winter. Andorra is the country of Tax free, so many from France and Spain come here to buy things. This country is in the top of mountain, so I wonder how much they spend for gas to get here....
国境から直ぐの場所にショッピング街(冬はスキー場)があるではありませんか。実はアンドラは無税の国なのです。税金の高いフランスやスペインからタバコや家電を買いにピレネー山脈の山頂まで皆さんはるばる来ていたというわけ。よくこんな場所まで買い物に来ますね。ガソリン代だけでもバカにならないでしょうに。


Finally, I reached to the Top, 2408m.
そして最後のジグザグを登り切って峠の頂上へ 2408m。



It was really hard work. Many cars turned back at the shopping center, so the last few KM was not as bad traffic as so far. Now going down to Iberia peninsula.
いやいやしんどかった。さすがに大方の車は峠手前のショッピング街で折り返すようで、峠手前からの交通量はさほど多くはなかった。そしてここからイベリア半島に向け下るのである。

I took off right away after coming back from Beaune. It's because I have only one month left in western Europe. The Chengen agreement makes a big headache. I need to get out of western Europe by 15th of Sep. Basically I can stay only 3 month in Europe except some countries in eastern Europe such as Balcan countries where I have been few month ago. モンテリマールに戻ってからはその日のうちにすぐ出発した。何せヨーロッパでの滞在期限が迫ってきているからゆっくりもしていられない。この縛りの原因はシェンゲン協定という忌々しいルールのおかげで、自分が許された滞在は9月15日まで。あと約1ヶ月でシェンゲン領域外のモロッコへ渡らなければならない。簡単に説明すれば日本人が許されたヨーロッパ(自分が通って来たバルカン諸国は別)での滞在期限は3ヶ月。シェンゲン協定の詳細を説明すると長くなるので、興味のある方はこちら。

Anyways, after Montelimar, I kept going down along Rhone river. In a day after, I stopped by Pont du Gard, a old bridge for water passage during Roman empire.
さて、ローヌ川に沿ってしばらく南下して最初の見所ポン・デュ・ガルド, Pont du Gard。これはローマ時代の水道橋。





It was a quite big bridge and impressing how ancient people built this.
良くこんな巨大な橋を昔の人は創れたもんです。ローマ人の建築技術はすごいですな。


Passing through forests, agricultural lands and towns a day after day. It was easy to find a camp spot along but a bit boring compare to cycling Italy or Switzerland.
この辺りも引き続き森・畑・町の繰り返し。野宿に全く困らないのは良いが、イタリアやスイスに比べると正直味気ない。






A cyclist i met on my way suggested me not to go along southern coast line because there would be more resorts and touristy.
I also wanted to have more excitements so got into inland.
そんな状況を解決すべく、ニーム手前からはやや内陸を進んだ。フランス南部を走ったサイクリストに南部の海岸線は面白くないと聞いていたし、この時期の沿岸は行楽客ですごい事になってそうなので避けたかったのもある。

From Bedarieux to Mazamet, there were a bike pass for 80km built on old rail road.
途中、Bedarieuxという町からMazametという町まで80km 古い線路を使ったバイクパスを通る





Carcassonne. Pyrenees is not far from this town.
さらに内陸を南西に進んでカルカソンヌ。カルカソンヌの先にはピレネー山脈も見える。

On the way down from the east side of mountain in Carcassonne, I could see the Castle in Carcassonne center.
山から降りる途中からカルカソンヌの城塞都市が見えた時は感動的だった。




The castle was beautiful when I saw from outside. However, the inside of castle was horribly touristy.
外からみると良いのだけれど内部は日本の初詣並みに人だらけ。

I was very frustrated by such a touristic castle and came out in one hour.
これにはドン引きして1時間も見て出て来てしまった。


It seemed there were Japanese tourists. I found some Japanese words. It was funny. Why they use the flag of japanese navy during world war.
日本人観光客も多いのか日本語が。でも変、しかも国旗が何故に大日本海軍。。。

So far, I cycled 90km to 100km average for a day. It was not my preferred distance; 80km is good distance for me, so I was a bit tired now. Unfortunately I still need to keep going even though there is Pyrenees waiting for me.
ここまで1日90～100kmペースで飛ばしてきた。あぁ～しんどい。これからピレネー越えなのに。それでも走らないといけないんです。

I left my bicycle at the hotel in Montelimar, and we took a train to Beaune, a town in Burgoyne region. In this region, the very high quality and expensive grapes for wine have been grown. There was the road where many famous vin yards located along. This road was supposed to be the world famous wine road.
Kazu san really likes wine, and I'm interested in wine making after working at the winery in Australia. That was the reason he took me to Beaune. By the way, we are NOT GAY. I hope no one think that way...

和さんと共に向かったブルゴーニュ地方の Beaune ボーヌ。この一帯はフランスを代表するワインが生産されている。ここには特級道路なるものもあってこの道路に沿って超高級ワインに使われる葡萄が育てられている。和さんは大のワイン好き。自分もオーストラリアでワイン生産を手伝ったのがきっかけでワインには興味がある。
といったわけで今日和さんにここまで連れて来てもらった。ちなみに私達はゲイではない。どちらもストレートですので勘違いなさらぬようお願いします。


Looking around Beaune. The monastery where people used as hospital as well was the main tourist interest. The color of the roof was pretty.
まずはボーヌの町観光。中心にある元修道病院が有名らしい。屋根が可愛らしい。





I liked also houses in the village. Many houses with same triangle shape roof made such a unique view.
自分はそれよりもこの一帯に共通する町の雰囲気が気に入った。三角の屋根の家が立ち並んでいてこじんまりとして落ち着いた雰囲気。






We took a tour to visit some famous vin yeards. Actually, they all look same if no one tell you.
そしてツアーを使って葡萄畑見学。実際、何も言われなければ普通の葡萄畑。

This vin yeard is Romanel Conti. They produce only 5000 bottles a year. It's very difficult to see a bottle. If you want to buy, it costs €6000, about $8000. Normal wine at a shop in France cost €4 - €6.
これがあのロマネコンティが生産される畑。ロマネ伯爵の畑です。年に5000本しか生産されない幻のワイン。1本80万円～ 。ちなみにフランスで一般的に売られているのは€4～€6。




I don't understand why people want to buy this. As my opinion, wine should be more casual, being able to drink every meal. The price is not made by taste but only bland.
正直自分はワインは庶民的な飲み物で、毎日食事と一緒に飲む気軽な飲み物。この辺りのワインは高すぎて理解できない。この恐ろしい値段は実際味ではなくてブランド名なのに間違いない。


At the end of tour, we went to wine tasting. Good wine but I didn't buy of cause.
最後はワインテースティング。美味いちゃ～美味しかった。もちろん自分には買う勇気はありませんでした。


Kazu san and I hanged out for two whole days. If he didn't come, I had never thought to come here. I was very pleased what he did to me. Now, we are going different direction. He is going to Paris, and I'm going back to Montelimar. I always felt lonely after having fun with friends.
丸2日一緒に過ごした和さんとはここでお別れ。和さんが来なけれはブルゴーニュには絶対来ていなかっただろう。本当ありがとうございました。この後和さんはパリに戻り、自分は自転車を残してあるモンテリマールに戻る。ミラノで友人に会った時もそうだったが、別れた後は本当さみしい。

I cycled along Rhone river after crossing a border and went south. There were no mountains but only hills and no feeling of Alps anymore. The roads became without bike passes in many parts, so I need now more carefully to choose my route.

フランスに入ってからはローヌ川に沿って南下開始。フランスに入ると山が丘になってアルプスの面影はもうない。スイスのように分かり易い自転車ルートも整備されていないので、道選びには気を使わないといけない。






On my way, I stopped by Vienne. I pitched my tent at a camp ground, left my luggages and took a train to Lyon with my bicycle.
途中、Vienneという町のキャンプ場にテントを残してそこから電車で自転車ごとリヨン観光に行ってみた。

Old center of Lyon was like Dubrovnik, orange top buildings. I was also looking forward to visiting some nice bike shops I found online. However, all shops I went had been closed. This is France. People take a long holiday during summer, especially August. There were many shops closed for same reason in Lyon, so new center, no many tourists, had been very quiet.
リヨンの旧市街はオレンジ色の屋根が続いていてドブロブニクを思い出した。今回リヨンに来たのは観光する目的もあったけれど、自転車屋を見て周るのも楽しみにしていた。しかし、調べていた店4件全部19日まで休み。さすがフランス、ホリデーシーズン、特に8月は小中規模の店はどこも長い夏休みを取るようです。リヨンも観光客のいない新市街はどこかガランとしてました。






In Montelimar, 120km south of Vienne, I had another person to see. Kazu is like my older brother. He took care of me since we first met couple years before..
Vienne からさらに120km南下し、Montelimarでも再会を予定している人がいた。地下足袋サイクリストの和さん。出発前に始めてお会いしてから面倒みてもらっていた兄貴分。


He had a summer holiday and took short trip to France. He saved some times to see me during his trip and came see me from Paris by TGV. As I said, he was like my older brother. He took all bills while I was with, so I didn't need to pay any expense.
今回、日本のお盆休みを利用してフランスに遊びに来たついでにわざわざTGVに乗って会いに来てくれた。気前の良い和さんにはホテルから食事まで一緒にいる間に発生した費用全て面倒見てもらってしまった。

Kazu works at Rice wine maker, Sake. He brought a lots of Sake bottles from Japan. I had quite a lot with him. This Sake, Omoiyari, is supposed to be the best seller in Hokkaido as he said.
日本酒メーカーで働く和さんは日本から何本も日本酒を持って来ていて、久々に日本酒をたらふく飲んだ。

That day, we talked about after my journey till mid night. We were supposed to spread tomorrow; he was going to north and I was going to south. However, I changed my plan when he asked me "Do you want to come?". I was so lucky to go for free!!! For tomorrow, we are going to Beaune, a world famous town for wine.
この日はこれからの人生について語るに語って夜がふけていきました。自分はこれからさらに南下、和さんはブルゴーニュに行く予定だった。しかし和さんに「一緒にブルゴーニュ行く？」の一言から予定変更。翌日から図々しくも急遽、ブルゴーニュ地方に行く事になったのであります。もちろん和さんは全部費用を負担してくれました。どのようにお礼をしてよいか。いずれ出世払いさせて頂きます。

I have more friends in Europe. My Swiss friends live in Nyon, 30km east of Geneva. They are also cyclists I met last summer in central asia.
ジュネーブ近郊のNyonという町にスイス人の友人が住んでいる。彼等も去年の夏に中央アジアで知り合ったサイクリスト友達。


In the day of that it had started raining, I arrived to Nyon. They came to the visitor center to pick me up and were still very nice couple.
アルプスが別れを惜しんでいるかのように雨が降りしきる日 Nyonに到着した。町のビジターセンターに迎えに来てくれた2人は相変わらずナイスカップルだった。

Adam and Jully, they had crossed their finish line of their journey last winter and now live in Nyon, near where their parents live. They needed to leave Nyon from tomorrow, so we had only a day and half to hang out. I should have came at lease some days before but I took much time to cross alps. However, we had at least a day with very nice reunion.
アダムとジュリーは去年の冬に旅を終えて今はNyonに住んでいる。2人共明日から出掛けてしまうので会えるのはこの日だけ。夜遅くまで、とりとめないくしゃべり続けた。もう少し前に到着できれば良かったのだけれど、アルプスの峠越えの日々はあまりに時間が掛かった。でも1日だけでも会えたので良しとしたい。

In the next morning, Jully left. Then Adam left afternoon. However, Jully's mom letted me stayed her home next day, so I could take a day off. She treated me with cold beers and nice wine during the day. Also, in the evening, she took me a restaurant to let me try Swiss Cheese fondu. It was very nice. Thank you all for everything!!!
翌日、ジュリーは朝に出発し、アダムは午後出掛けて行った。自分は図々しくくもジュリーの実家にもう1日だけ泊めて頂いた。しかもビールやらワインやら頂いて、極めつけはチーズフォンデュレストランにまで連れて行って頂いてしまった。本当ありがとうございました。日本にお越しの際はうな重をご馳走します。

アルプス最後の峠 Jaun pass 1503m を越える。

峠から下った場所にあるBulleという町で会ったスイス人の兄さんと自転車屋の旦那。

I met a man infront of a bakarry and had some conversation. He asked me if I needed something for my bike. Actually I was looking for a miller for my sun glasses that I lost in Parelmo. Then he took me a bike shop.
兄さんとパン屋の前でたまたま会って話をしているうちに、この自転車屋に連れて行ってもらった。実はイタリアのパレルモでサングラスに付けるミラーを無くしてしまい、ずっと同じミラーを探していた。


The owner of bike shop came to us and found exactly the same miller I had. I was going to pay. It was about $30, I thought a bit expensive. But he didn't take my money. He said he gave it to me. Farthermore, he went to a storeroom and brought a mesh inner hat.
The man who took me the shop also tried to help and kept asking me what I need and want. I was very pleased their kindness.
この旦那の自転車に偶然にも全く同じミラーが置いてあった。即決購入しようと思ったがこの旦那金を受け取ろうとしない。30CHF 約3500円もするミラーをタダでくれるというではないか。さらには倉庫からガサガサ探し出して来てくれたヘルメットの下に被るインナーもくれるという。何とお礼を言って良いかわからない。この兄さんは兄さんで「君のフロントバッグはかなり痛んでいるから僕のをあげるよ」と言ってくれるではないか。その心遣いに感謝。
さすがにフロントバッグは高額な物だし、自分のフロントバッグにも愛着があるので丁重にお断りした。

It started raining from that day, but I was feeling very happy and going to next destination, Geneva.
この日から生憎の雨になった。が、心は晴れ晴れとしていた。足取り軽く次の目的地ジュネーブへ向かったのであります。

After seeing the Eiger from the pass, Grosse Scheidegg, 1962m, cycled down on the very steep road.

The first town I came into was full of Japanese tourists. I was very surprised because I didn't research anything about towns on my way. This town was Grindelwald. It was actually world famous town where people take very expensive mountain train. I heard that there were over 1 million tourists visiting this town every year. There were Japanese words and signs everywhere in this town, even I saw the tourist center for only Japanese.
と、突然観光客がわんさかいる町に進入。しかも日本人だらけ。下調べを全くしていなかったのでビックリ。ここはGrindelwald といって世界的に有名な登山鉄道がある町。そして年間100万人以上の観光客が来るスイス屈指の観光町だそうだ。町には日本語の看板や日本人用の観光案内所、モンベルまである。ここからは超有名で超高額な登山鉄道があってユングフラウの近くまで行ける。


I was supposed to go through Grindelwald. However, unexpectedly I saw many outdoor shops along the main street. I was actually looking for a new tent for long time. I left my bike in safe place and started searching the tent. Then I found this tent.
この町はスルーする予定だったけれど、アウトドアショップがズラリと建ち並んでいたので、テントを探す為にも立ち寄ってみた。そして対にビビッと来るテントに遭遇。これも縁と思い即決購入した。

It is Italian tent and looked very similar to my old tent. The price was quite reasonable. Only difference was that this was for three season. This will be my new partner for next 8 month till my last destination. Hope works out okay.
SAREWAというイタリアメーカーのテント。システムが今のテントとほとんど同じだったのが決め手。前から知ってはいたが店頭で発見したのは初めて。値段もかなりお手頃。これから8ヶ月間宜しくお願いします。

Now, I got two tents. All my bags got full, no space. Swiss land will be expensive place to send, so I need to carry till France.
ん～ これでテント2つ。荷物がパンパンだ。スイスで荷物を日本に送り返したら高そうだし、フランスまで頑張ります。


From this point, I was getting away from Alps.
そしてここからは西へ西へとアルプスから遠ざかって行く。

The day 4, will challenge northern cliff of Eiger.

スイス4日目、アイガー北壁を攻略する。


I didn't feel much tired after sleeping 10 hours. Also the word "Northen Cliff of Eiger" had became a trigger for my adrenaline.
昨日の疲れは10時間睡眠でバッチリスキッキリ、しかもアイガー北壁というフレーズに朝からアドレナリンが身体から湧いて出るのを感じた。


Yesterday, I met Swiss cyclists. They told me that it would be impossible to go up the hill with this bicycle, but I thought it would be feeling very successful after accomplished this pass. Then I strongly swear to get this done.
昨日道中で会ったスイス人のサイクリストに「君の自転車だと重すぎてアイガーの攻略は無理だ」と言われていた。そんな困難を乗り越えてこそ感動があるに違いない。かつてアイガー北壁の直登を成し遂げたのは日本人だったように、日本の先人は数々の偉業を成し遂げて来た。


I got into the road going up to the pass after coming down from Grimselpass.

Grimselpass から山を下り途中の分岐からアイガーへと続くルートに突入。

This road was steep enough even at the beginning. I cycled zigzag on 3m wide road. I was looked very strange because no one going up with full-loaded bicycle.
最初から傾斜がきつく幅3mくらいの道をジグザグに登る。そうでもしないと登れない。やはりフルロードの自転車は珍しいのか、通る観光客やサイクリストからの好奇の視線を感じた。


The sight gets open as I went higher up. Then a big cliff has been appeared. It was not Eiger by the way.
だんだんと視界が開けて来て、目の前に大きな岩山が現れる。

There were a glacier stuck on the top.
これはアイガーではないが、氷河がビッシリと山頂に張り付いているのが見える。



I cycled along this cliff till the top. Since this road was closed for cars last 5km, there were not much traffic.
この壁に沿って細い道をよじ登ってゆく。このルートは途中から車両通行止めになるのもあって、車はほとんど通らない。


It was very steep last 5km. However, I was like runner's high at that moment. I could manage to get to the top.
最後の5KMはかなり傾斜がきつい。ただ車両通行止なので誰もいない道をただひたすら登る。この間はどこかランナーズハイ的になっていて、きつい傾斜をガンガン進む事が出来た。




After climbing 15km, I reached to the pass. Then saw.......
そして下界から約15kmの急登の最後、峠を越えて見えたもの。

Eiger, this mountain was so beautiful.
神々しいまでにそびえ立つアイガー。


Also there were Jungfrau behind. I saw 2 big mountains from same place.
そしてその後ろにそびえ立つのはユングフラウ。2つの北壁を望む。さすがに感動するしかない。


As I cycled into the crowd of hikers on the pass, I felt I was a champion stepping on the first place.
ハイカーがメインの峠に一人フルロードの自転車をこいで入って行くのは、どこか金メダリストがお立ち台に上がる時のような気分だった。

The day 3. I crossed 3 big different passes.
スイス3日目は怒涛のアルプス峠3本越え!!!


From Passo S.Bernardino where I passed yesterday, 2065m, I went down to the town Bonaduz, 655m. Then, started working on the first pass of the days, Oberalppass.

昨日のPasso S.Bernardino, 2065mからBonaduzの町, 655mまで下り本日1本目のOberalppass.へ


The road runs along the rail way. I was impressed how this train went up on such a steep slope.
山岳鉄道沿いに登って行く。まぁ良くもこんな急な坂に線路をひいたもんだ。

1本目 Oberalppass完遂, 2046m, 2046m


Went down to a town Andermatt, 1447m.
1447mにある町Andermattまで一気に下り




Then started Furkapass.
Furkapassに挑む



Peddled up 6km/h with looking down to Andermatt where I passed a few hours ago
Andermattの町を見下ろしながらこれまた葛なりの道を時速6kmでよじ登る

Furkapass was really hard work; endless switchbacks.
この峠はきつかった。好い加減最後が見えないウネウネした道をずーと登って


Then finally, accomplished Gurkapass, 2435m.
Furkapass 2435m完遂！！


It was amazing view from the top.
景色最高



Then went down again to 1757m, Gletsch.The road snaking up on the mountain in this photo was the third pass, the last of the day, Grimselpass.

またしても一気に1757mのGletschまで降下。この写真に見えるのが本日最後に挑むGrimselpass


I was climbing up with seeing where I went through today. I can imagine how much I sweat that day.
これまで通って来た道のりを眺めながら登る。今日は汗を何リットルかいたかわからないくらいビショビショ。




At the right before sun setting, finally I accomplished Grimselpass 2164m.
夕方Grimselpass 2164m 完遂！



The view from here was also breathtaking. I accomplished all 3 passes. The total altitude of climbing was 2780m!! I was sooooo tired at the end of the day and have slept for 10 hours till next morning.
こっからの景色も最高でした。これにて本日の任務完了！今日は合計2780mを上ってやった。この日は好い加減クタクタクタになって次の日の朝まで10時間眠りました。

From Lorenzo's home, it took me half day to a Swiss land border, Pino.
ロレンソ宅から半日かけてマジョーレ湖にあるPinoという町からスイス国境を越えた。


The towns of Swiss land is always clean and well organized. I don't even see garbage and scribbling along a street.
スイスの町はとても綺麗でゴミは落ちてないし、落書きも少ない。さすが文明国といった印象。



Swiss like to decorate their house with flowers. I saw many pretty houses with nice grassland around.
スイス人は家を花でデコレーションするのが好きらしく、どの家も庭が綺麗で、青々とした牧草地に映える。

There were no many fences in this country. As you go country roads, you can really enjoy cycling grassland.
この国にはフェンスがほとんど存在しない。農道を走ればすぐ脇には牧草地が広がっていてとても気持ちが良い。


The cost of live here that I was worry about was not very expensive. I felt the cost of live in Japan was more expensive. I think this country is goodly barnacled.
気になっていた物価はさほど日本と変わらない印象。むしろ日本より安いくらいかもしれない。彼等の平均的な収入を考えると日本より豊かでバランスの取れた国なのだろう。


For cycling also, this country is well organized.
スイスは自転車にとっても走り易い国で



You just need follow this sign if you want to avoid traffic. This sign is everywhere and it's easy to find. You can travel all over this country without cycling busy roads. They have also sign for mountain bikes and walking tracks. I will say Swiss land is very outdoor friendly country. You can see more detail on this link: www.veloland.ch/

The day 2, I passed the first pass of Alps.
スイスに入って2日目、まずはアルプス1本目の峠越え。



From 500m up to 2065m elevation, Passo S.Bernardino.
標高500mくらいの地点から峠 Passo S.Bernardino 2065mへ這い上がる。


It was really hard work for me because I had been taking resting for quite awhile.
久々の1500mクライミングは訛った身体に応えた。


From that day, I started crossing many passes of Alps.
この日から峠越えの日々が始まる。
