The day for getting to Fes, Adele also intended to came with me. Seemed he wanted to escort. However, I knew he had a very old giant bicycle so was worry if he could make it to Fes. As I thought, his bicycle got its' hub snapped in 2km. Then he got very bad puncture next. I could reaper hub but not for puncture because the hole was really big and bad spot. He still intended to come with me but for me, it's impossible otherwise we would end up before Fes. I explained it would be no possibility to reach to Fes with his bicycle and tried him to understand.

フェズに向かう当日、アデルもフェズまで一緒に来ると言い始めた。彼はボロボロのジャイアントを持ってたのだが、案の定出発して2kmも走らないうちにハブの軸が折れ、その直後に今度はパンク。軸は何とか補修できたけれど、パンクはかなりヒドイ場所にあいてしまい補修は
できなかった。それでも何とかアデルはフェズまで見送りに来たいと言うけれど、どう考えても彼と一緒だとフェズには到着できない。

Eventually, he understood. We exchanged our contact, and I left his place.
He didn't expect any from me.
He was just really honest person.
残念だけれど、と説明し何とか彼には解ってもらい諦めてもらった。でも、見返りも求めないでここまで良くしてくれようとしたアデルは正に善人だったに違いない。


Then I arrived to Fes in the same day. This is a former capital of morocco. From Fes, the Islam had spread around this country. The center of Fes has really complicated allays connection. It's like un-clearable maze.
そして到着した古都フェズ。ここからモロッコ全体にイスラム教が広がって行ったそうだ。そんな歴史を感じさせるように旧市街には迷路の路地が広がっている。






The area for tanning leather called Tanneri, was the most popular spot for tourists.
タンネリと呼ばれる革職人エリアはフェズの旧市街で観光客がまず目指すスポット。





People in this area was really suspicious looking. They tried to be friendly and to take us to their souvenir shops.
こういう場所にいる輩はやたらと胡散臭い。なめし革～って声をかけて来て、言葉巧みに土産物屋に連れて行こうとする。


In the terrace where Tanneri can be seen, people made souvenir shops and place for taking photos. They tried to sell things there but I didn't buy any of cause. I looked around, took some photos and then just left.
なめしの工程が見える高い場所は全部テラスが作られていて、そこに併設されている土産物屋で物を買わせようという魂胆らしい。当然そんな事は解っているので中を見て周っただけでここはさっさと立ち去った。

I knew the smell of Tanneri when I was in Tetouan. The smell was really strong here as well.
ティトゥアンのタンネリで匂いは知っていたけれど、やっぱりこの匂いはすごかった。


In other allays in old center, annoying men kept coming to me and tried to take me somewhere; for surely it would be souvenir shops or expensive restaurants. It's very tiring and always felt "leave me alone". I spent only one day for old center because people were pretty annoying.
他の場所でもうざったい輩の猛攻は続く。道に迷うと必ず若い連中が何処か(多分土産物屋や高いレストラン)に連れて行こうとする。フェズの旧市街は迷わないで歩くのは無理。それくらいわかりにくい。それでもやって来るうっとうしい連中。本当ほっといてくれ。こんなんだったから旧市街を歩くのはすごく疲れて滞在中1回しか行かなかった。






However, I spent in Fes for 4 days total. Its because I got a stomach problem. The reason i thought was that I was really tired by walking in center and had a donut fried by old oil.
In that day, it was second year anniversary for me since I left Bali.

一方でフェズには結局4泊もした。原因は2日目に食べた油ギトギトのドーナツ。多分古い油を使っていた物を買ってしまったのと、うっとうしい連中に疲れさせられたのが重なって腹を完全に下した。やっと風邪が治ったのに今回は下痢。勘弁してもらいたい。そんなこの日は旅をして丁度2年が経った日だった。旅立つ前に1年半～2年のつもりで出発したのだから年月が経つのは本当早い。


Since I got my stomach problem, I just stayed at the hotel and watched japanese drama. It was really addicting. I felt it's not really good for me because it made me forgetting my bike tour. It's better to watch only once in awhile.
下痢になってからは宿で安静にして半沢直樹を見ていた。宿で一緒になったクミさんという日本人女性にこのドラマの事を教えてもらったのだけれど、いゃ～面白い。宿でゴロゴロして日本のドラマを見ていると、自転車で走っている自分を忘れそうになっていかん。

I stayed 8days total in Chefchauen. This town was really small town for staying 8days. When I got board, I was visiting to a hotel where some Japanese stayed. It was very refreshing. Now, I felt my body had been recovered enough so decided to head off.

結局シャウエンには8日も滞在してしまった。小さな町をだっただけに後半はする事がなくて、日本人旅行者が泊まっている宿に遊びにいったりして過ごしていた。久々に日本人と沢山話せてリフレッシュもできたし、身体もほぼ回復したので出発する事にした。

The man working at the local restaurant where I went everyday. He always welcomed me with sweet smiling.
シャウエンで毎晩通った定食屋のおっちゃん。愛想が良いおっちゃんでいつも笑顔で迎えてくれた。


The guy at Bonsai Hotel. He was only a person speaking English, so he was a good conversation partner.
ボンサイの兄さん。唯一英語がしゃべれるので良い話し相手だった。



It was cloudy when I left Chefchauen. The last night, it was raining so I would be staying one more night if it didn't stop. But looked okay for today. I cycled 70km to Quazzane in the first day. Since I had been not on the bike for 8days, i felt the distance was longer than actual distance.
出発初日は曇り。昨夜は雨が降ったので降り続いたらもう1泊かなと思ったけれど、雨は止んで天気も持ちそう。やはり8日も空けると身体が大分訛っていてしんどかった。この日は70kmだけ走ってQuazzaneという町で宿を取った。

In the next day, I cycled 100k.
Everyone I asked told me there would be not hotels on my way, so I thought it would be tricky to find a place to stay for that night.
Of cause, bush camping is always an option. However, I had decided not to camp in north of morocco because there were always people walking along the roads even where nothing around.
In late afternoon, I met a man. We were talking by the road, and he invited me to stay his home. It was good timing for me. He told me he lived in a village 5km away, so I cycled to this village after he left by a bus to his home village. He was waiting for me at a cafe but looked very drunk when I got there.
I felt Noway to stay his home and escaped from him by saying some excusing.
I still need to find a place for tonight. Fortunately, i met a young man and he kindly asked me to stay his home. He looked very gentle and not drunk so I decided to follow him.

翌日はさらに100キロ進んだ。
この辺りは宿がある町が無いらしく、どうしようか迷う。
モロッコ、多分北部地域は特に人口が集中しているからだと思うけれど、人が何も無い場所とかでも歩いているから野宿はしたくない。
そんな矢先、夕方オジサンに声を掛けられていろいろ話すうちに家に泊まりに来いという話になった。
5km先の村に住むオジサン、ラッキーと思ってその村まで走って行くとカフェで待っていたおっちゃんはビックリするくらいベロベロに酔っ払っていた。会った時もチビチビ飲んでいたけれど、まぁここまでベロベロになってしまうとは思ってもみなかった。
こんな酔っ払いの家に泊まれるわけがない。何とかその場は切り抜けて脱出してみたのは良いものの、どうしようか困る。ちなみにモロッコでは酒を置いている店は少ないし、酒を飲んでいる人も見たのはこれが始めて。
話は戻って、酔っ払いオジサンから逃れた後、道端で会った若い兄さんの家に泊まらせてもらえる事になった。彼は全く英語は解さないが、ジェスチャーで何となく解った。真面目そうな兄さんだったし、少なくとも酒は飲んではいない。

He is a moroccan young man living a village 10k from the village where I was. When I got there, his family welcomed me. I felt relaxed when I saw these people. He just wanted to help me.
彼はアデルというさらに10kmくらい先の村に住んでいる青年。家に行くと彼の両親、奥さん、子供が迎えてくれた。
やはり本当に善意で家に招待してくれていたらしい。正に捨てる神あれば拾う神あり。







Besides I had a great experience with local moroccan family, it was a bit tiring because he took me around his village until midnight. I knew he was very excited for having a stranger in his small village but I was after cycling 100km. Its not always easy to find a place.....
ただ、よほど珍しかったのか、夜遅くまで連れ回されて寝たのは12時、翌朝もアデルが夜明け前からお祈りするから起こされて完全に睡眠不足。招待してもらっといて言うのも何ですが、民泊も楽じゃない。野宿の日々が恋しい。

After Kept resting on the bed for 3, 4days, my body started recovering and now I can walk around town.

3、4日寝込んでやっと外を歩き周れるくらいまで回復した。


In this extra time, I researched about on my way and schedule.
この時間を使って今後のルートの事や日程を考えていた。

For east Africa, the route might be change a bit, but for west since there are not much choices, I will most likely follow this route.
東のルートはまだ多少の変更はあると思うけれど、西のルートはそんなに選択がないのでほぼ確定でしょう。

The west is about 4000km and east is about 6000km; the total will be 10000km.
走行距離は西が4000km、東が6000kmで計10000kmってところ。

I think I can get to cape town on April, 2014. The goal is already visible.
おそらくケープタウンへの到着は来年の4月になる。もうゴールが見えて来た。

I have been staying here for almost a week. Will take off soon.
シャウエンに来てもうそろそろ1週間。出発しよ。

60km ride from Tetouan. I arrived to the place called Chefchauen, a famous place for as the blue village.
ティトゥアンから南に60km走り、青いメディナのあるシャウエンという町に来た。地図で確認していた通りモロッコは山が多い。





There were many houses colored with blue paint. It's like melting ice-cream. Yam yam.
シャウエンは青いメディナが有名でミントのアイスクリームが溶けたような壁が続いていて美味しそう。






This town is much smaller than Tetouan but more tourists as long as I saw around. there were many souvenir shops and hotels for tourists in Inside of medina, old center. For me, to be honest, I liked Tetouan better as they were less touristic.
この町はティトゥアンよりも大分小さいわりには観光客が多くて、メディナの内側は土産物店や外国人向けの宿がひしめいていた。自分的にはティトゥアンの方が生活臭が強くて良かったな。


I'm staying Bonsai hotel, a hotel on my guidebook. They don't have international guests, only locals and no stable Internet access, it depends on neighbor. It costs only 40DH, about $4.5/night. Seems most of tourists stay a hostel in inside of medina called Mauritania.
泊まっているのはボンサイというホテル。歩き方にも載っているけれど、外国人観光客は全く来ない。1階のドミが一泊40DH 約450円とかなり安いけれどWiFiは有るらしいけれど無しに等しい。良くも悪くもないといった宿。シャウエンに来る日本人を含めた観光客はメディナの中にあるモーリタニアという安宿に集まっているっぽい。

It costs 20DH to 30DH, $2 to $3. It's enough for general but not for as a long distance cyclist, I can eat twice as much as they normally serve.
20～30DH 約200～300円くらいでまぁまぁ腹は膨れる。正直、長距離自転車をこぐ自分にとっては2人前くらいが丁度良いくらい。

Moroccan like fish so there were many kinds of fish dishes as well.
タジン以外にもモロッコ人は魚を良く食べる。

I can eat a dish with deep flied fish for 9DH, $1 . I like it so much.

モロッコ人で混み合っている食堂で、魚フライ定食が9DH 100円とかで食べれる。骨まで食べれてめちゃくちゃ美味しい。


My body has been keeping going 37000km without much maintenance as I do for my bicycle. So far, I haven't gotten sick for long time but finally, I got in this town. I think it's because I forced myself to cycle for getting out of Europe as I had limited time in Shengen, and I had been taking cold shower in morocco. The body functioned honestly. I should have more taken care of myself.
それより、ここに来て体調を完全に崩した。シェンゲン領域を離脱して気が緩んだのと、モロッコに入ってから水シャワーを浴びていたのが悪かったのだと思う。やっぱり身体は正直。37000kmも頑張ってくれている自分の身体。自転車のメンテナンスはちゃんとしてたけれど、身体の事は後回しになりがちだったな。

Chefchauen has plenty of cheap restaurants and don't need to walk far for eating.
Now, time to recover seriously. I got enough time so need to take a lot of resting here.
シャウエンには少し歩いただけで沢山安食堂もあるし、時間もある。しばらく何もしないで完全復活してから動く事にします。ちょっと反省しよ。

Arrived to Tetouan. In this region, northern part of Morocco, their culture is influenced by Andalusia in Spain. The buildings were whitish and Spanish can be used. Inside of wall called medina of Tetouan is also recognized as a UNESCO sight.

ティトゥアンに着いた。この辺りはアンダルシアの影響濃い場所で、街は白くてスペイン語が通じる場所でもある。メディナと呼ばれる城壁に囲まれた旧市街は世界遺産にもなっている。

The only my complain was that my hotel was 4th floor. it was hard work to bring all my bags and bicycle up to 4th floor. After I left all my luggage, I went to the medina.
宿が4階にあって荷物を上げるのがしんどかったけれど、さっさとチェックインを済ませて早速メディナに行ってみた。

People people people, there were sooo many people. It was a bit shocking atmosphere since I got used to supermarket during Europe. Here, in Tetouan, there was absolutely real life of people.
人、人、人！すごい活気で笑ってしまった。これまでヨーロッパのスーパーマーケットに慣れ切っていたせいか、この人間同士の戦いとも言わんばかりの張合いに圧倒された。

Unstopping honking, people yelling, a guy carrying heavy stuff by a wagon. This is traveling and being involve different culture. I started feeling something being slept inside of my mind has been started waking up again.
クラクションが鳴り響き、売り手が大声で叫び、おっさんが重い荷物を荷車に乗せて人ごみの中を進んでいる。この混沌とした中を歩いていると、しばらく眠っていた自分の中での何かが蘇って来るのが感じられた。これでこそ旅、やっぱりこうでないと旅は面白くない。

As I walked, some people tried to talk to me. When I stopped by a small restaurant and had a guts soup of chicken, a shop just cross a pass way was for processing chicken. It was a shocking experience for me to eat chicken guts with listening chicken being processed.
街を歩けば、誰かしらかまって来る。鳥の臓物煮込みを食べた安食堂の向かいは鶏売り場。次々と鶏がさばかれていく音を聞きながら食べる臓物煮込みは衝撃的だった。

People are so friendly here, モロッコの人はかなりフレンドリー

Off to The continent of Africa. I left the hotel with a ferry ticket that I had bought yesterday.

アフリカ大陸へ渡る当日。昨日のうちに買っておいたフェリーのチケットを持ち港へ向かった。


Moroccans who live in Europe caring a lots of luggages on their cars had waited for a ferry.
港では、多分ヨーロッパに住むモロッコ人達だろうか、大きな荷物を積んだ車がフェリーを待っていた。




In around the port of Algeciras, there were many tickets agents, so it was easy to buy a ticket. The price of a ticket in those agents were almost all about the same. From Algeciras, they have mainly two destinations; one goes Tanje, morocco. another goes Seuta, a little part of Spain in Africa. The price of the one for Tanje was €52, and one for Seuta was 36. My route was to Seuta. I chose this way because its easier to get to Tetouan; from Tanje to Tetouan, there seemed a mountain pass and longer.
港の周辺にはフェリーのチケットを扱う店が沢山あって値段はどこも同じ。ここからは主にモロッコのタンジェとスペインの飛び地になっているセウタにフェリーが出ている。タンジェまでは€52、セウタまでは€36。自分はセウタまでは行く事にした。セウタからの方が目的地のティトゥアンまで近いし、タンジェからティトゥアンだと山を越えなければならなそうだったからだ。

They have many ferries a day. I picked a one for 9am.
フェリーは一日何本も出ていて、自分は9時の便を使った。

The gate of Africa opening the mouse. As soon as the ferry left the port, the mountain of morocco has been appeared. Africa was really close.
アフリカ大陸への扉が口を開けて待っている。出港するとすぐ山が見え始めた。モロッコの山だ。こんなにもアフリカ大陸が近かったらしい。






1.5hour after, the ferry arrived to Seuta. Into The continent of Africa.
約1時間半でフェリーはセウタに到着した。はれてアフリカ大陸上陸だ。

As I wrote at the beginning, Seuta is a part of Spain. It's like a remaining of the history of colonizing and world war. Since that, the inside of Seuta was still Europe; some supermarkets and churches.
冒頭でも書いたが、セウタはスペインの飛び地。ヨーロッパの植民地政策と第二次世界大戦の名残と言った所か。ここはアフリカ大陸とはいえまだスペイン。街にはこれまでも良く見ていたスーパーや教会がある


In Seuta, I did nothing and just went straight to the border of Morocco. It was only 5km from center.
セウタでは全く何もせずモロッコ国境へと向かった。国境までは約5kmくらいだったかな、あっという間に到着した。

When I reached to the border check, I expected passport check. However, they just saw my passport and letted me through without any checking as normally I was done in other border so far. If I knew that, I could have gone over 90days witch was my stay limit in western Europe. It might be right or a just coincident. Anyway, now I'm out of Schengen stress.
出国審査。のはずだったがパスポートもチェックしないままスルー。こんなのアリっすか。これまでシェンゲン滞在日数90日を気にして走ってきて、今日はその90日目。こんな簡単ならシェンゲン滞在日数を気にせずオーバーステイしても大丈夫だった気がする。ただ、たまたまだったのかもしれないし、良しとしよう。とにもかくにもシェンゲン領域は滞在リミットでアウトとなった。

As I passed through immigration of morocco easily, I am now in Morocco.
モロッコ側のイミグレーションも余裕で通過し、モロッコ入国完了です。

In morocco side, there were a lots of old Mercedes taxes waiting some passengers. Looked people who don't have bicycle needed to take one of these.
モロッコ側にはボロベンツが沢山待機していた。自転車が無い人はこのタクシーで最寄りの町まで行くのでしょう。


On the way, I had a lunch in a small village. It was beans soup with very sweet mint tea. Cost 20DH, about $2.5. The price of things dropped a lot. I'm very happy now.
この日の昼は途中の町にあった大衆食堂で豆スープとモロッコ名物の甘～いミント茶を頂いた。20ディルハム 約230円。物価が嬉しいくらい下がった。



People are very curious. There must be many cyclists traveling this country but seems they are still looking forward to seeing strangers. In Europe, no many people talked to me because a tourist is not something special for them. Now, I feel more traveling and loving seeing strangeness.
人が声をかけて来る。自転車旅行者が珍しい？らしい。実際、自転車で旅している人はモロッコも沢山いると思うが、このかまって来る感じが懐かしいし、嬉しくも感じた。ヨーロッパでは他人から声を掛けられる事なんてそう頻繁な話ではなかったから。やっぱり旅はこういうのが楽しい。と言ってられるのは今だけですかね。

After I left Bari, it's been 716days. I cycled 137 days in Europe.
バリ島を出発して716日、オーストラリア走行を挟んで今春イスタンブールを4月30日に出て137日目にしてジブラルタル海峡に到達した。


There was a beach in Gibraltar bay, and the view of Gibraltar channel was memorable. This quiet beach gave me enough moment to look back. There will be the new continent, Africa just cross this ocean.
ジブラルタル湾にあるビーチからはジブラルタル海峡が見える。かすんで海の先にあるアフリカ大陸は見えない。このビーチは人気が無く感慨に耽る時間を十分与えてくれた。


However, I still have 10000km to go, so many part of my minds were for the near future. From tomorrow, I take a ferry to Morocco.
とはいってもこれはゴールではない。まだあと1万キロは残している。これまでの記憶を思い起こすというよりも、これからの不安や楽しみの方が頭の中をグルグル駆け巡っている。明日からは海の先に向かう。

What are waiting for me there...
この国ではいったい何が待っているのでしょうか。

There were so many ugly resorts and holiday houses along my way to Gibraltar. I didn't have any moments that this cost line was beautiful. It was totally packed by resort buildings, and beaches were not so beautiful. The choice of the roads was also very limited for bicycle, so I cycled on very busy roads for almost all the way. I won't come back to this southern coast again for sure. Don't expect beautifulness in southern cost of Spain. There were a lots of better beaches in Europe.

ジブラルタル海峡までの海岸線は不細工なリゾートホテルや別荘がギーシリ立ち並んでいて、全く綺麗とは言い難かった。道も選択できず、交通量の多い道路を走らされて最高にストレスな道中。二度とアンダルシアの海岸線は来ないでしょう。



I was really carefully cycling on my way to avoid any accidents. It would be so stupid if I get any such a ending point. Yes, I'm almost the end of Europe.
Before getting Algeciras, where a ferry to morocco runs and also my ending point, I stopped by this place.
ヨーロッパもあとわずか。最後の最後に事故なんて嫌なので慎重に進み、やっとフェリーの出るアルシヘラスに到着。と、その前に気になっていた場所に立ち寄った。その名もジブラルタル。

Gibraltar is the name of town in Gibraltar channel. They also have a ferry to morocco but only twice a week. Algeciras has more options, so staying here for the ferry transit is not practical.
ジブラルタル海峡にあるジブラルタルという街。ここからも週2本のフェリーがモロッコに出ているけれど、ジブラルタル湾挟んで向かいのアルシヘラスの方が便数が多いのでフェリーのトランジットとしては利用価値は低い。


Gibraltar belongs to England. That's the reason I stopped here. I just wanted to see some of English things. As I went through the emigration, there was England.
ここに寄ってみたのは、英国の雰囲気を少し味わってみたかったから。そう、ここはイギリス領でイミグレーションを通過すると中はイギリスなのです。こんな地図上では豆のようは半島だけれど、戦略上重要な場所らしいのです。




There were English words everywhere of cause, english post and public phone boxes as well.
国境を越えると英語表記はもちろんの事、ポスト、公衆電話、ダブルデッカーまで走っていた。








In a cafe, people ordered English breakfast, and a person in the cafe said "Hello, how are you" to a customer. It was impressing me how things have been changed after crossing the border.
カフェではイングリッシュブレックファーストを注文できて、店員はハロー ハウアーユー と声を掛けていた。プチイギリス体験。こんな小さな国境も越えると言葉や物が変わってしまうんですね。

I remembered now I had seen many English people shopping supermarkets along my way, and they seemed living there. Also had been seeing strange number plate "GBZ". I had been wondering. It's easy for British to live in this region, and GBZ stands for Great Britain Zibraltar.
そうそう、だからこの辺りはイギリス人が沢山住んでいたんですね。走ってる車やバイクもGBZ グレート ブリテン ジブラルタル のナンバーが良く走っていたし、スーパーでもやたらとイギリス人がいました。この辺りはイギリス人にとって住み易いんでしょう。

Okay, I'm about only 20km to the end of Europe.
さてヨーロッパ最終章。ヨーロッパ走行もあと20kmあまりです。

Finally, I got into Granada, the capital of Granada province in Andalusia. It took 950km for 10days. I didn't cycle much a day before because of the raining, so it was about 100km average in 9 days.

グラナダにやーと着いた。ここまで10日間、約950km。到着前日は朝から雨に降られてほとんど走らなかったから1日約100km平均だった。あぁ～疲れた。サハラ越えの予行演習にはなったかな。


My plan here is to get refresh by looking around town and talking to people. It's already September. The town was not clouded by tourists, and the hostel I checked in was not full.
グラナダはガンダムの世界では宇宙都市。スペインではアンダルシア、グラナダ県の県都になっている。ここでは観光して、人とまともに会話して、沢山息抜きする事にしていた。9月に入ったので夏休みのピークも去り、街もホステルも混んでいなくて丁度良い。


Alhambra, アルハンブラ宮殿

Alhambra, located in center is very chunky looking from outside but once getting inside, you will see many decorations and fin arts inside. Especially, Nasrid palaces had a lot of detailed work.
グラナダの中心、外見はずっしりしているけれど、中の特にナスル宮殿は細かなモザイクや装飾が至る所にあって素晴らしかった。










There are many water running in the palaces and some arts created for image of water. Those showed how much Arab who had been from desert loved water.
水が至る所で流れていたり、水をイメージして作られたタイルを見ていると、砂漠の民がどれだけ水を欲していたのかがわかる。

The best thing I had in Granada was Flamenco. I was so impressed.
ここで一番良かったのは最後の夜に行ったフラメンコ。これはめちゃくちゃ感動した。

The heat from audience and performers got mixed up and made a really exiting atmosphere.
観客の熱気とフラメンコの熱気が重なりあってすごい迫力。ほとばしる汗と乱れる髪、久々に鳥肌が立つのがわかった。

I heard that flamenco was different in different region. In Madrid, there are more top artists working. However, actually, flamenco is originally from Andalusia. The flamenco I saw was exactly my image of south Spain.
フラメンコはスペインの場所によっても違うらしくてマドリードなんかではトップで活躍する人達のショーが観れるらしい。とはいえアンダルシアはフラメンコの故郷だし、この気候や風景を走って肌で感じて来た後に見たフラメンコは、正に熱い南スペインそのものだった。


The time has been flown very quickly. My last night was really exciting. There are more places I want to visit, but I don't have time this time... Gibraltar is only 250km away...
こんな感じでグラナダ最後の夜は熱い熱い夜だった。あっという間に過ぎてしまったグラナダでの滞在。アンダルシアには他にも行ってみたい場所がいくつもあるけれど、滞在期限があるから諦めるしかない。ジブラルタル海峡まであと約250km。

The day 5, from Barcelona, I was in Murcia province. There were more up and down since my route was slightly inland from here. The orange trees that I had been seeing in Valencia province have been gone, and there were more vin yards on my way instead.

5日目、ムルシア州に入った。ここから少し内陸に入ると景色にも変化が。オレンジ畑がだんだんと無くなって、変わりにブドウ畑～



Some vin yards have started harvesting.
秋の収穫の時期。ワイン用のブドウが収穫されてます。


It seemed olive has been grown bigger and bigger.
オリーブの実も随分大きくなりました。


Northern part of Mursia province was pretty. I liked the contrast of white clouds and the blue sky.
ムルシア州の北部地域。青い空と白い雲が綺麗な場所だった。


My lunch break. Still 30℃ during the day time but the shade is very flesh.
昼休憩。まだ日中は30度くらいはあるけれど、日陰はかなり涼しくて気持ちが良い。


My favorite time for there days was drinking a can of beer after cycling. It's very nice to have a cold beer after cycling 100km for all day under the strong sun of southern Spain. I always buy a beer at the petrol station right before lapping up the day. Its because normally supermarket doesn't have cold beer in Spain.
この頃は一日を終える為にビールを飲むようにしている。強い陽射しの中走り続けた後に飲むビールは美味い。スーパーだと冷たいビールが売ってないので、夕方ガソリンスタンドでキャンプ用の水を仕入れるついでにビールを買う。


Days 7, I entered Andalusia province.
7日目、スペイン最南の州アンダルシアへ突入。


The road goes miles and miles.
乾いた大地が延々と広がっている。まっすぐに伸びる道。


In southern spain especially Andalusia, there were many white color houses. It was very nice to go through some small villages in a mountain with white color houses.
南スペイン、特にアンダルシアには白で統一された家々が多くて、これが山に映えて綺麗。山の中にある村なんかは山の斜面をくりぬいて半分埋まっているような家があって、トルコのカッパドキアみたい。




I cycled through unique shaped rocky place on my way to Baza. This place would be very alike to Cappadocia if there was balloons flying on the sky.
岩山も奇岩なんかがあってこの場所に気球が飛んでいたらカッパドキア。


I found a fountain that I haven seen for long time in a small white village.
ちょっとした白い村で久々に見付けた山からの湧き水。この水は美味かった～




On my way to Granada from Bazr, I got stopped by a police car. They told me that I was on the highway for only cars. However, there were no road that cyclists can go, so I made a big detour and took some part of maintenance road for highway to make through this part. Eventually, I managed to pass this part but had a long detour.
途中、Bazrからグラナダに向かう道で警察に捕まるハプニングがあった。何故かというと高速を走ってたから。この区間は車しかダメだったらしい。特に罰金等は無かったけれど、車に乗せられてBazrに戻された。20kmくらいの区間だったけれど、遠回りな道を使ったり高速の脇道なんかを使って何とかこの区間は切り抜けた。



I am almost Granada.
長い長いぶっ続けで走る日々もあとわずか。グラナダまであと少し。

Got started non stop going days of cycling. As I was getting closer to Valencia, many orange farms had been appeared. There were somehow a lots of snails in orange trees, so my morning always started with picking up snails from my tents.

ひたすらジブラルタル海峡を目指して走る日々が始まった。バレンシアに近付くと特産のバレンシアオレンジの畑が永遠と続く。野宿はオレンジ畑。カタツムリがやたらと多くて、朝はカタツムリをテントから剥がす作業から始まる。



Also, some cactuses and olive trees grew as the climate gets warmer.
南下するにつれサボテンやオリーブの木もよく見かけるようになって来た。




From Barcelona to Gibraltar, it's about 1200km. My limit of stay is 15th so I planed to get out at least by 14th; also planed to stay Granada at least few days for sightseeing. I would have to cycle 100km average for a day.
バルセロナからジブラルタル海峡までは約1200km。滞在期限が15日なので14日には海峡を渡ってシェンゲン領域から脱出したい。グラナダで観光もしたいので、計算すると1日100kmくらいのペースか。


KM 350, Valencia, I didn't stay but stopped by old center shortly.
350km地点。バレンシア。ここまで4日。旧市街をちょろっと見学。




In Valencia, I had the world popular food, Paella.Paella is originally from Valencia.
ジョルディから念を押されていたパエリアを頂く。



I went to a small local restaurant and ordered it. It came with Stake plate, Coca Cola and Caffe after. It costed me only €8. I was very happy with that.
バレンシアはパエリアの発祥。郊外にあったレストランでパエリア定食がビーフステーキとコーラ、カフェまで付いて€8。小さな幸せ。

Oh, by the way, I got this in Barcelona.
そういえばバルセロナではこんな物をゲットした。

I should keep my eyes on Spain but my mind is already Africa. I felt Ive lost some sense of surviving in remote area, so I must remember before going.
"The First Time Africa" これを毎日読みふけっている。
まだスペインにいるのだし、この国の事を調べながら走るべきだけれど、実際頭の中はアフリカの事でいっぱい。ヨーロッパで訛り切ったサバイバル感覚を蘇らせなければならない。いゃ見つけられて本当良かった。


Still keep on going 100km a day for the average every day. I had planed to find a camping ground after Valencia. Since There were plenty of campgrounds on my way so far, I didn't research about it in advance. It was wrong. I couldn't find any camping after Valencia. Seemed no one coming inland, where there were nothing for camping. Therefore, I kept pushing myself to keep on going....
その後も100km/日平均で進んだ。バレンシアを過ぎたくらいでキャンプ場を見付けて休息するつもりだった。が、調べが甘かった。全然キャンプ場が見つからない。あれだけバレンシアに向かうまでは見たのに。やはり内陸の何もないような場所にキャンプしに来る人はいないらしい。そんなわけでひたすら前進する日々は続くのであった。
