Han Chinese used to consider West of Dunhuang as out of china. This city is an oasis town, and there are big sandy hills right behind it.
漢人はここ、敦煌(ドゥンホアン)から西を西域と呼んだらしい。砂漠の中に忽然と現れるオアシス。町の南には巨大な砂丘が迫っている。



Seems Camels are a main life stock of this area. I saw many of them walking along a road outside of town.
少し町から離れると、ラクダが沢山家畜として飼われて、道を歩いてる。しかし、何でラクダの下唇はあんなにだらしないんだろう。



Tourists attractions are spread around the town. Mogaogu, a cave ancient people created and also this is a world healitage site, is the most famous attraction here. However, I didn't want to go because it's not really interesting for me.
この町の見所は周辺に散らばっていて、莫高窟っていう世界遺産はその代表格。ただ、自分は180元＋交通費50元 払っても見たい程興味が湧かなかったから行かなかった。


Instead of visiting Mogaogu, I cycled around the town and walked in the sand hill.
その代わり、町の外側を自転車で散策しながら、砂丘に登りに行ったりなんかした。



It's a very unique view that greenish downtown surrounded by the huge pail of sand.
青々とした木々が生える市街地と、その外側に迫る巨大な砂の塊が、何とも対照的で絵になる。



I was not sure that I could take a rest today, but need to take off tomorrow. 900km to Urumuqi.
動き周ったから休息できたんだかわかんないけど、明日からまた出発。ウルムチまで900キロ。
